Heather Dale

Heather Dale is a Canadian Celtic folk musician. Her musical journey began with piano lessons and poetry writing as a child. At eighteen, while studying at the University of Waterloo, she discovered Medievalism through the Society for Creative Anachronism and started composing songs inspired by Arthurian legend. Dale released her first album, Dances by the Marian Ensemble (1996), followed by The Trial of Lancelot (2000), which included her popular song "Mordred's Lullaby". She founded Amphis Music in 1998, serving as her primary record label throughout her career. Notable albums include May Queen (2003), The Gabriel Hounds (2008), and Avalon (2010). Dale collaborated extensively with multi-instrumentalist Ben Deschamps. In 2014, she successfully crowdfunded for the musical Queens of Avalon, which premiered in 2016. In 2020, she became the first musician to be inducted into the Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy Association's Hall of Fame.
