The Italian rapper known as Blanco was born Riccardo Fabbriconi on February 10, 2003, in Calvagese della Riviera. His musical taste was largely shaped by his father’s record collection, which included albums by singer-songwriters Lucio Battisti, Lucio Dalla, and Pino Daniele. He discovered hip-hop during his adolescence and quickly started writing his own rhymes, a hobby that turned into a full-time profession with the release of his online EP Quarantine Paranoid in June 2020. The young rapper’s debut caught the attention of Universal Music, who swiftly added him to their roster and released his major-label debut single “Belladonna (Adieu)” just a few weeks after the release of his first EP. Following the release of the 2020 singles “Notti in Bianco,” which reached Number 2 on the Italian Singles Chart and “Ladro di Fiori,” Blanco collaborated with producer Mace ad rapper Salmo on the track “La Canzone Nostra,” an ambient-inspired number that shot straight to the top of the domestic charts. More success followed with the Sfera Ebbasta collaborative track “Mi Fai Impazzire” and “Blu Celeste,” the title track of his 2021 studio debut, both of which achieved pole position in Italy and further established Blanco as a rising star in the mainstream rap scene. Shortly after its official release, Blu Celeste (2021) hit Number 1 on FIMI’s Albums Chart and received platinum certification for selling over 50,000 copies.
