Laura Musgrave always writes straight from the heart.
“I’d love to give you the feeling that you’re living and breathing the emotions in that song,” she affirms. “As if someone cracked your heart open and poured it into lyrics and melodies.”
Perhaps unsurprising then, that the Leicestershire (UK) recording artist and songwriter has made confessional writing her trademark. An award-winning blend of personal lyrics with pop rock sounds, described as ‘guitar-driven gem’s (Two Story Melody) and ‘pop rock at its best’ (FLEX). The resulting songs wouldn’t be out of place on a playlist with tracks by Avril Lavigne, Paramore, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Acorn, and Pale Waves.
Laura’s music has been featured on BBC radio shows, Amazing Radio (UK and USA), and Women of Substance Radio. Three of her singles have been selected from BBC Introducing for BBC Radio Leicester’s Track of the Week. As a result of this honour, Laura’s tunes played on rotation alongside tracks from artists like Taylor Swift, and GAYLE.
Laura’s song ‘Early Days’ took home the ‘International Female Single of the Year (Gold award)’ at the 2023 International Singer Songwriters Association Awards in Atlanta, USA. It was also under consideration for the GRAMMY Awards® in the Pop Solo Performance category.
