French composer based in Iowa, Jean-François Charles is known for the opera Grant Wood in Paris and his contribution to the soundtrack of Dziga Vertov's movie The Eleventh Year.
He worked with Italian composer Ivan Fedele and virtuoso clarinetist Armand Angster, recorded with Karlheinz Stockhausen, performed with Gozo Yoshimasu.
