Born in Paris and originally from Cali, Colombia, Caleño takes his name from this city, known worldwide as the capital of salsa.
His desire to learn Latin music at its roots led him to Spain, Colombia, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and New York—the birthplace of 1970s salsa and the legendary Fania Records label, which deeply influenced his childhood.
In 2016, while living for several months in Spanish Harlem, Caleño shared the stage with salsa legends and became the lead singer of the Steven Oquendo Big Band, performing every Tuesday at Mama Juana Café in the Bronx.
Back in France, he brought to life a long-held dream: blending his voice—steeped in traditional salsa—with modern beats and electronic sounds.
Since 2023, he has been refining this musical fusion, releasing several singles and delivering electrifying showcases on iconic Paris stages such as Cabaret Sauvage and La Bellevilloise, and even at Club Casa Cruxada in Cartagena, Colombia.
Today, Caleño is preparing new singles and collaborations, along with a new live show combining percussive rhythms and electronic textures for a deep dive into a unique universe: Neo-Salsa.
