Zhi-Vago

A German dream house band founded in 1996 and produced by Claudio Mangione and Gottfried Engels, Zhi-Vago, whose singer was none other than Eliz Yavuz (who lip-synched Maxx's single "Get-A-Way" ), saw its career take off that same year with the track "Celebrate (the Love)", which quickly climbed the charts in Switzerland and France in particular, where the song reached #9 and #8 respectively in the best-selling singles charts. Another track, "Dreamer", was released the same year and also made its way into the charts, albeit more moderately. Zhi-Vago's 1997 cover of U2's "With Or Without You" attempted to revive the band's fortunes, but was rejected by the public. Despite two other singles, "Teardrops From Heaven " in 1997 and "On My Mind" in 2000, which also failed to make an impact, the band threw in the towel in 2002.
