For over two decades the US country singer Mark Chesnutt enjoyed a golden period when he was rarely out of the Country Charts and had more than 20 top ten hits including eight number ones. He crossed over into the mainstream charts with his rendition of Aerosmith's 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing' which reached number 17 in the Billboard Hot 100 as well as topping the Country Charts.

Chesnutt was born and raised in Texas and began his career the hard way, performing small gigs in and around his home state slowly building up a fan base and making sporadic recordings on small regional country labels. In 1990 he got his break with a major label when he was signed by MCA Records, releasing his first album with them later that year. The album went platinum producing five top ten singles including his first number one 'Broken Jukebox'. Chesnutt enjoyed a meteoric rise establishing himself as a top selling country artist with three more top selling albums but as the 1990s drew to a close Chesnutt's album sales slowly diminished and a number of the singer's subsequent single releases failed to break into the charts. Since 2008 Chesnutt has released just three albums culminating in the 2016 release 'Tradition Lives'.
