American country music singer, Canaan Lee Smith, was born on August 24, 1982, in Dillsboro, Indiana. He graduated from Lafayette High School and attended Belmont University in Nashville. In 2009, Canaan Lee Smith moved to Nashville to pursue a musical career and co-wrote the hit "Runaway" by Love and Theft, which peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. His debut single "We Got Us" was released in January 2012, followed by his self-titled EP Canaan Smith in March 2015. In June 2015, he released his first full-length studio album Bronco, which included the Number 1 hit on the Billboard Country Airplay chart "Love You Like That". In September of the same year, Canaan Lee Smith embarked on his first headlining concert tour, the Stompin' Grounds Tour. In March 2018, he parted ways with Mercury Nashville and signed as a songwriter with Tree Vibez Music. In August 2019, Canaan Lee Smith joined Round Here Records, founded by Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line, releasing his second studio album High Country Sound in April 2021.
