Dan Reed Network, an American rock band, was formed in 1984 by Dan Reed in Portland, Oregon. The band's initial lineup included Dan Reed on vocals and guitar, Brion James on guitar, Melvin Brannon II on bass guitar, Dan Pred on drums, and Rick DiGiallonardo on keyboard. Their first recording, the six-track EP Breathless, was released in 1986 and featured the Number 1 single "Steal Me" on Z-100 in Portland. Between 1987 and 1988, Dan Reed Network signed to Mercury Records and released their self-titled debut album, which included the hit single "Ritual", peaking at Number 38 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band's subsequent albums, Slam (1989) and The Heat (1991), showcased their unique blend of rock and funk. They toured extensively, supporting acts like Bon Jovi and The Rolling Stones. Despite internal issues at Mercury Records, Dan Reed Network continued to perform, culminating in a hiatus starting in October 1993. The band reunited for a one-time show on New Year's Eve 2012 and subsequently released new albums, including Fight Another Day (2016) and Origins (2018).
