Born on May 24, 1981, in Tarbes, France, David Fray has become one of the most important classical pianists of his generation. Graduating from the Conservatoire de Paris in 1999, he began to attract attention with his unique live performances. David Fray was awarded the Second Grand Prize at the Montreal International Music Competition in 2004. A year later, he released his critically acclaimed debut album Bach et Boulez, followed by Schubert – Liszt (2006), and Partita BWV 828 - French Suite BWV 812 - Notations – Incises (2007), which was another album devoted to Bach and Boulez. Further acclaimed albums include Schubert: Impromptus – Moments Musicaux (2009), Schubert: Fantaisie (2015), Chopin (2017), Bach: Sonatas (2019), and Bach: Goldberg Variations (2021). During the course of his career, David Fray has performed with many of the world’s greatest conductors including Christopher Eschenbach, John Axelrod, Kurt Masur, and others.
