Kate Royal has appeared in recital throughout Europe and North America. In concert she has appeared with numerous world renowned orchestras including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Sir Simon Rattle, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Vasily Petrenko, the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Pablo Heras-Casado, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra under Yannick Nézet-Séguin and both the Berlin Philharmonic and the Orchestra of Bavarian Radio under Rattle. In opera Royal has sung many significant roles. These include Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) for the Glyndebourne Festival, the Lucerne Festival, the Royal Opera and the Baden-Baden Easter Festival, Countess (Le nozze di Figaro) and Governess (The Turn of the Screw) for Glyndebourne on Tour, Helena (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) for both the Teatro Real, Madrid and the Glyndebourne Festival, Handel’s ‘L’Allegro’ for the Paris Opera, Micaela (Carmen) and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) for the Glyndebourne Festival and Countess Almaviva for the Aix-en-Provence Festival. She made her Metropolitan Opera debut as the title role in Euridice returning for Micaela. Forthcoming opera appearances include returns to Glyndebourne, London and Paris while in concert she returns to Berlin and makes debuts with the New York Philharmonic and the Cleveland Orchestra. Kate Royal also works extensively as a recording artist. In October 2006 Kate Royal signed an exclusive contract with EMI for whom her first solo recordings included a musical portrait with the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields conducted by Edward Gardner, and 20th century arias (‘Midsummer Night’) with the Orchestra of English National Opera and Edward Gardner. Her solo recital disc with Malcolm Martineau (‘A Lesson in Love’) was released in February 2011.
