Breed 77, a British rock band originating from Gibraltar, was formed in 1996 by Paul Isola, Danny Felice, Stuart Cavilla, and Ariel Rojas. Initially known as Gibraltarian Mafia, the group changed their name to Breed 77 after discovering that "Breed" was already registered by Steve Hewitt of Placebo. The band's unique sound blends rock, metal, and flamenco, with lyrics in both English and Spanish due to Paul Isola's bilingual fluency. Their debut EP The Message was released in 1998, marking their first official release. In 2004, Breed 77 gained significant traction with the release of their album Cultura, which peaked at number 61 on the UK charts and reached number 3 on the UK Rock Chart. Notable singles from this period include "The River" and "World's On Fire", both of which achieved chart success in the UK. The band continued to release albums, including In My Blood (En Mi Sangre) in 2006, produced by Ron Saint-Germain, known for his work with Soundgarden and Tool. Breed 77 toured extensively, performing alongside notable acts such as Black Sabbath and Machine Head, and appeared at the Download Festival in the UK. Their later releases include Insects (2009), The Evil Inside (2013), and Acoustic Rarities (2015). The band's lineup has seen several changes over the years, with Paul Isola serving as a consistent member until 2013.
