Actor and rapper Shad Gregory Moss is best known by his stage name Bow Wow. He was born in Columbus, Ohio and was fortunate to have parents who were keen to help their son pursue a career in entertainment. It proved to be a wise decision because by his 14th birthday Moss had sold more than two million copies of his debut album 'Beware of the Dog'.
During his career as a rapper he released six studio albums with his final effort being 'New Jack City II' which reached number 16 on the Billboard 200 listing. By 2009 he had become one of America's best known and recognisable rap stars and he capitalised on this success by abandoning music and building up a career in film and TV. His forte has been as a character actor although he has quite often been cast as himself in a cameo capacity. In recent years he has featured in the show 'Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta', a reality series which chronicles the lives of young rap stars.
