Biography

Spanish singer-songwriter Enrique Iglesias was born on May 8, 1975, in Madrid, to global superstar Julio Iglesias and former model Isabel Preysler. After his parents divorced, he moved to Miami with his father at the age of eight. His debut album, Enrique Iglesias, was released at the end of 1995 and was later awarded a Grammy. This was followed two years later by the album Vivir, which climbed to number 33 on the US charts. Following the release of Spanish-language albums, Enrique Iglesias also began recording music in English. In 1999, the film song "Bailamos" was released, which was part of the soundtrack to the film Wild Wild West, becoming a worldwide success. That year, his debut English album Enrique, rose to the top of the charts in Spain thanks to the song "Could I Have This Kiss Forever," a duet with Whitney Houston. The singer performed with Phil Collins, Christina Aguilera, and Toni Braxton at Super Bowl XXXVI in 2000. His second English-language album Escape was a huge success and reached number 1 in the charts in Australia and the UK. Enrique Iglesias won the Latin Grammy Award in 2003 for the album Quizás. In 2010, the bilingual album Euphoria was released with the hits "Dirty Dancer," a collaboration with Lil Wayne and Usher, and "Heartbeat" with Nicole Scherzinger. Driven by the chart-topping singles "Loco," "El Perdedor," and "Bailando," his tenth LP Sex and Love arrived in 2014 and saw him embark on an international tour in more than 130 cities worldwide. His album Final with the songs "Pendejo" and "Unwell" was released in 2021. A second volume titled Final (Vol. 2) came out in 2024, preceded by the singles "Así Es la Vida" with Argentine singer María Becerra, "Fría" with Yotuel, and "Space in My Heart" with Miranda Lambert.
