Touch and Go, a British jazz pop ensemble, was founded in 1998. The group consisted of Vanessa Lancaster on vocals, James Lynch on trumpet and instruments, with David Lowe and Gordon Nelki serving as producers. Their breakthrough came in October 1998 with the release of "Would You...?", a single that reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart and became a hit across Europe, particularly in Eastern Europe where they toured extensively. The track was included in their debut album I Find You Very Attractive, released in 1999. Other notable songs from this album include "Straight to... Number One", "So Hot", and "Tango in Harlem". "Would You...?" was featured on various television show soundtracks, including the American series G String Divas and the British series As If, and was sampled in advertisements for San Pellegrino, Carlsberg, and Nokia. The band's popularity in Eastern Europe led to extensive touring, with performances in major cities across Russia and ex-USSR countries. Their record producer, David Lowe, is known for composing all BBC News music since 1998. In November 2011, Touch and Go appeared as musical guests on X Factor (Romania).
