Monkey3, a instrumental rock band from Lausanne, Switzerland, formed in 2001 as a jam band community. The core trio of Picasso on bass, Walter on drums, and Boris on guitar recorded their debut self-titled album Monkey3 in 2003 which was released the following year by Buzzville Records. In 2005, dB joined the band as a permanent fourth member on keys and sounds. The group's subsequent releases included 39 Laps (2006), the EP Undercover (2009), and Beyond the Black Sky (2011). In 2013, Monkey3 signed with Napalm Records and released The 5th Sun. Following Picasso's departure in 2014, Kevin joined on bass. With this new lineup, they released three albums: Astra Symmetry (2016), Live At Freak Valley (2017) and Sphere (2019). The band achieved notable chart success with Sphere, reaching number 88 in Germany.
