Biography

Eclectic indie-rockers Puggy formed in Brussels in 2004 after the band's French bassist Romain Descampe and English vocalist Matthew Irons crossed paths with Swedish drummer Egil "Ziggy" Franzén at jazz school. They set about releasing their anthem-packed debut, Dubois Died Today, in 2007 on independent label Talkieo, and three years later took the Number 2 spot in Belgium for their second album Something You Might Like. The LP generated three music videos in "I Do," "When You Know" and "How I Needed You," with "When You Know" also finding fame as the theme song for the French television series Detectives. In 2013, Puggy released their third album, To Win the World, which was certified platinum in Belgium, made it to Number 1 and saw the band tune into a more polished, pop-minded frequency. For their fourth album Colours (2016), Puggy embraced a more pronounced pop mindset, also incorporating electronic elements into their aesthetic. The following year, Puggy's music was brought to life on the soundtrack for Belgian-French computer-animated comedy-drama film The Son of Bigfoot in 2017 and Bigfoot Family sequel (also known as Bigfoot Superstar) in August 2020.
