The Fabulous Wailers, also known as The Wailers, were an American rock group from Tacoma, Washington. Formed in the late 1950s, they initially recorded a demo under the name The Nitecaps, which led to their first single "Tall Cool One" reaching number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 24 on the R&B chart in 1959. Their debut album The Fabulous Wailers was released that same year, featuring vocal performances by Kent Morrill. In 1961, they founded Etiquette Records and released a cover of "Louie Louie" credited to "Rockin' Robin" Roberts, which became a local hit and influenced other Seattle bands like Kingsmen. The group disbanded in 1969, with Morrill being the sole remaining original member.
