Dave East

David Lawrence Brewster Jr., known professionally as Dave East, was born on June 3 1988 in New York City’s East Harlem and emerged as a rap artist and singer. His early releases, including the mixtapes, No Regrets and Gemini, laid the groundwork for his breakthrough with Black Rose (2014), which attracted Nas and led to a contract with Mass Appeal Records, later partnered with Def Jam. Dave East continued to build momentum with the mixtapes, Kairi Chanel (2016) and Paranoia: A True Story (2017), the latter reaching Number nine on the Billboard 200. His debut studio album, Survival (2019), peaked at Number eleven, and the follow‑up Karma 3 (2020) entered the chart at Number thirty‑six. Collaborations have included Nas, Rick Ross, and Chris Brown, while his touring history features the Survival Tour (2019). In 2021 he released the joint album HOFFA with Harry Fraud, and in 2023 he returned to independent releases with Fortune Favors the Bold. 2024 saw the release of Karma 4. Dave East’s catalog reflects a consistent presence in the East Coast rap scene, with multiple charting projects and a growing filmography.
