Snow, real name Darrin Kenneth O'Brien (born October 30, 1969 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada), is a Canadian reggae, dancehall and hip-hop musician. He grew up in the North York suburb of Allenbury Gardens, where he lived in socially disadvantaged circumstances in an environment with a strong West Indian influence, through which he immersed himself deeply in Jamaican reggae culture. He made his international debut in 1993 with the album 12 Inches of Snow, which was a success with over eight million copies sold. The single "Informer" alone dominates the US Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks in spring 1993 and is the best-selling reggae single in US history, reaching number 1 in numerous countries worldwide. The album reaches chart positions such as No. 3 in Canada and No. 5 on the US Billboard albums as well as certifications such as Triple Platinum in Canada and Platinum in the USA. The second album Murder Love follows in 1995, with singles such as "Si Wi Dem Nuh Know We" (feat. Ninjaman & Junior Reid), which reaches No. 1 in Jamaica and receives a Juno nomination in 1996, and "Anything for You", which becomes a hit in Jamaica and reaches No. 74 in Canada. In 1997 Justuss released the single "Boom Boom Boogie", which was certified gold in Japan and reached number 29 on the Tokyo Hot 100. In 1999 he released Cooler Conditions, followed in 2000 by Mind on the Moon with the single "Everybody Wants to Be Like You", which reached number 2 in Canada and was recognized by SOCAN. The album received a Juno nomination for Best Pop Album in 2001. The last studio album to date is released in 2002 under the title Two Hands Clapping. Since then, Snow has released a few singles, most recently "Just 4 U" in 2008 , "Adore You" in 2009 and "Shame (feat. Mykal Rose)" in 2014. In 2019, he appeared as a feature artist on Daddy Yankee's hit single "Con Calma ", which reached high chart positions in Canada and worldwide and received several awards, including Juno nominations and multiple awards at Billboard Latin Music and Lo Nuestro Awards
