Biography

Born on December 21st, 1994, in Brisbane, Queensland, Thelma Amelina Plumbe is known by her stage name of Thelma Plum; an award-winning Aboriginal Australian singer, songwriter, guitarist, and musician who won the inaugural Triple J's National Indigenous Unearthed Music competition in 2012 after sharing the tracks "Blackbird" and "Father Said." She launched herself onto the scene with her debut EP, Rosie, in March 2013 and followed with her second EP, Monsters, in July 2014. "Any Other Name," a collaborative single with hip-hoppers Horrorshow, Jimblah, and Urthboy, landed in 2015 and she teased her debut album with the platinum-selling "Clumsy Love" in 2018. Released on Warner Music Australia, her first full-length offering, Better in Blak, came out in July 2019 and shot to number 4 on Australia's ARIA Albums Chart. The LP also won two awards: Best Cover Art at the 2019 ARIA Music Awards and Album of the Year at the 2020 Queensland Music Awards. That year, she offered her take on Powderfinger's 1999 track "These Days" with a well-received cover version of the song. 2022 saw the release of new non-album single, "Backseat of My Mind," which reached number 40 on the Official New Zealand Music Chart.
