Martha Moore is a Brussels-based singer-songwriter who grew up in a musical household. Her real name is Marthe Lagae, and she was raised in an environment steeped in British folk and reggae guitars by her London-born musician father, G.T. Moore, who worked with the likes of Jimmy Cliff, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Johnny Nash and Joan Baez.
Her music clearly reflects a childhood in the 1990s, with sounds reminiscent of the 1970s, while remaining rooted in the present. Her musical style is difficult to categorise, oscillating between folk, indie, pop and rock, but is characterised by brutal honesty.
Martha Moore recorded their debut EP entitled ‘Out Of Season’ at Johnny Green Giant studio with Reinhard Vanbergen as producer. ‘Little Bird’ is the first single from the EP, which marks the beginning of a collection of songs born out of a break-up. This classic ballad, pure and uncompromising, is reminiscent of British folk.
