Giuseppe Henry "Pino" Palladino, born on October 17, 1957, in Cardiff, Wales, is a highly accomplished musician, songwriter, and record producer. He gained recognition as an in-demand session bassist, working with numerous acts such as the Who, Gary Numan, Paul Young, Don Henley, David Gilmour, Tears for Fears, Nine Inch Nails, Jeff Beck, Adele, and D'Angelo.
Palladino discovered his passion for music at an early age, initially playing guitar before switching to bass guitar. His influences include James Jamerson, Danny Thompson, Norman Watt-Roy, as well as admiration for musicians like Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Clarke, Bootsy Collins, Larry Graham, and Marcus Miller,.
Throughout his career, Palladino has contributed to various albums such as Gary Numan's "I, Assassin" (1982), Paul Young's debut album, Don Henley's "The End of the Innocence" (1989), and Richard Ashcroft's solo album "Alone With Everybody" (1999). In 2006, he joined the Who for their album "Endless Wire", and continued touring with them until 2016.
Palladino has also been involved in successful collaborations with Steve Jordan and John Mayer, forming the trio John Mayer Trio and releasing the album "Try!" in 2005. Palladino's versatile talent has led to appearances on albums by artists like Eric Clapton, Simon and Garfunkel, José James, and Beyoncé, among others.
