I truly appreciate you taking the time to listen to my music. I hope you find something of meaning and relevance. An ever-emerging theme in my music is a quest for imagination, for beauty, an awe of nature, and the elusive sublime. I'm a pianist/composer/educator/organist who serves as professor or music and interdisciplinary studies and chairs the Division of Arts and Humanities at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. I've been fortunate to perform and/or lecture abroad extensively in my role as endowed Ragan Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies, including research presentations, workshops, and/or performances in Greece, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Switzerland, Japan, Estonia, and Hawaii. My Bachelor's and Master's degrees are in music education and piano performance, respectively., and my Ph. D. is a unique interdisciplinary fine arts degree with emphases in composition and piano pedagogy. I have written over 500 compositions and am a member of ASCAP. My compositions and creative works span multiple genres. Print music editions of many of my compositions are available through various publishing houses as well as Sheet Music Press. In the 1990s, I recorded original compositions on two compact discs on the Opus One label. I've been fortunate to receive university awards for scholarly and creative activity three times, and for superior teaching once. I've been a finalist for the state of Oklahoma Medal of Excellence in Teaching Award on three occasions. I'm grateful for all the experiences life has provided me. Again, my deepest appreciation to you for allowing my art to be a part of your life.
