Biography

Nicole Zefanya (born on January 24, 1999 in Jakarta, Indonesia) (known as Niki) is an Indonesian singer, songwriter and producer. Learning the guitar from a young age, Niki began songwriting at thirteen years old and sharing her compositions online and at fifteen, won the opportunity to perform as the opening act for Taylor Swift’s The Red Tour in Jakarta. Upon graduation from high school, Niki moved to the United States, studying music at Lipscomb University in Nashville and releasing several singles: "See U Never" and "I Like U" in 2017 followed by "Vintage" in 2018, the lead single from her debut EP, Zephyr. Another EP, Wanna Take This Downtown? appeared in 2019, followed by a live recording, NIKI Acoustic Sessions: Head in the Clouds II. Her debut studio album, Moonchild was released in September 2020, with lead singles “Switchblade” and “Selene” attracting considerable attention, however it was her inclusion on the Marvel movie soundtrack Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: the Album, that earned her widespread recognition, with the album ranking third in soundtrack sales in the United States and single "Every Summertime", charting at number 2 in Indonesia and 3 in the Philippines. In 2022, Niki released her second studio album, Nicole, with hit song "High School in Jakarta" peaking at number 2.
