Summer Payton is a singer, songwriter, musician and producer from Chicago, Illinois. Surrounded by music from an early age, Summer picked up the piano by ear and learned from her father, a musician in the church. A childhood of being bullied and fat shamed led her to pick up her pen and write through her pain. Her musical journey led her to New York University, Tisch School of the Arts, Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music where she has grown and developed her artistry. Summer has been described as an “old soul” because of her sound and musical influences. The sounds of Motown and her Gospel infused upbringing combined with the 90’s RnB she fell in love with, drive her sound. She sings songs of independence, self-love, relationships and female empowerment. She’s performed in multiple cities including Chicago, New York, Atlanta and Berlin. Currently, Summer is embarking on a campaign called "The Road to 25" in which she will release a new single on the 25th of every month leading up to her 25th Golden birthday in December 2020 where she will then drop her first full project, an EP titled "Golden Hour".
