Marlou Vriens is a Rotterdam based singer, songwriter and composer. Her music is transparent, honest, refined and raw at the same time. Marlou writes about what matters in general. Her music draws on a wide range of influences, from classical to jazz and pop to soul. Her vocal flexibility is her trademark, performed in her own compositions and in backing and lead vocals for others. Marlou started writing and singing her own songs at the age of 11. Putting her small poems to music as she explored the piano in her parents' living room, greatly inspired by Tori Amos, her singer-songwriter journey began. She was educated in classical singing from the age of 5, singing in choirs and individual voice training. In 2009 she graduated from Music in Education at Codarts conservatorium Rotterdam. In 2020 she got her master degree at the Royal Academy of Music in Aalborg, Denmark. URL: www.marlouvriens.nl
