The third single from my forthcoming album Caught Up is out now!
Raised by a single mother in the outskirts of Budapest, Lujza was surrounded by the arts from an early age. Trained in classical dance and music, Lujza has transitioned to all things soul to find her true sound. “I’m still finding new edges and colour to my voice each day and am amazed at how it evolves.”
Drawing inspiration from Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse and Lauryn Hill, Lujza dives deeper into her sound by drawing from her old school idols of Etta James, Otis Redding and Aretha Franklin to name just a few. “I love the purity and the simplicity of old school soul lyrics. Expression without complication enables focus on the music and the meaning.”
I tend to write lyrics first, inspired by music or situations and the melody usually comes to me when I'm working through refining the lyrics. I like to tell stories of love, life and everything in between.
Following hot on the heels of the November 2021 release of the title track 'Caught Up' from her debut album by the same name, Lujza is ready to make 2022 hers. While 'Promises' continued with old school influences, my lates track 'Shoulda Woulda' is more R&B and dives deeper into the complexity of relationships.
