Durand Bernarr

Durand Bernarr, born on September 16, 1988, in Cleveland, Ohio, is an American soul singer, songwriter, and producer. Raised by a music‑teacher mother and an audio‑engineer father, he toured as a production assistant with Earth, Wind & Fire at sixteen and later joined Erykah Badu’s band as a background vocalist. His YouTube covers led to the mixtape alcoholharmony: The MixT@pe (2009) and the EP 8ight: The Stepson of Erykah Badu (2010). Durand Bernarr released his debut album DUR& in 2020, followed by Wanderlust (2022). In 2024 he issued En Route, earning a Grammy nomination, and in 2025 released BLOOM, which won Best Progressive R&B Album. He has collaborated with Anderson .Paak, Kaytranada, The Internet, and Ari Lennox. In 2026, he released his fourth full-length, BERNARR., featuring rappers and singers Big Sean, Vic Mensa, BJ the Chicago Kid, James Fauntleroy, Khalid, and Sevyn Streeter.
