In 2021, I found my way back to the piano — partly for my wellbeing, partly because I needed to open my heart to music again. I had no idea what would follow, and it’s honestly amazed and delighted me.
Decades ago, I was a professional pianist playing venues like the Savoy in London and recording covers of Jazz, Musicals, Classical and Pop. Those recordings stayed out in the world quietly streaming away even as I stepped away from music to follow a completely different path.
Fifteen years later, the pandemic made me rethink everything. I left my job, sat back down at the piano, and began writing Modern Classical piano pieces. I love everything about composing music, it’s a cathartic and liberating experience, and what started as a mindfulness project has evolved into something much bigger — a creative world I didn’t even realise I’d been missing.
Today, I’m incredibly grateful. This new chapter in Modern Classical Music has connected me with artists around the world and with millions of listeners — more than 25 million streams so far, plus airplay on BBC Radio 3 and stations across the U.S. My music now blends calm, clarity and emotion, shaped by experience, rediscovery, and a genuine love for the piano.
Most importantly, I’m finally doing what I love.
