Mike Teezy

Mike Teezy is an American Christian rapper, singer, songwriter, dancer, and visionary artist known for his dynamic fusion of hip-hop, R&B, pop, and gospel music. Born Michael E. J. Tyree in Charleston, West Virginia, and raised in North Carolina, he was immersed in music from an early age, influenced by his musically inclined family and his father, a preacher. Initially passionate about dance, Teezy was inspired by artists like Michael Jackson and James Brown. His musical journey took a pivotal turn in college when he rededicated his life to Christ during a Watch Night service. Determined to pursue his calling, he invested in a MacBook Pro and a USB microphone, recording music from his college apartment. Since transitioning to full-time music in 2019, Teezy has amassed millions of streams across platforms. His breakout single, "Child of the King", attracted widespread attention, and his 2023 album, The Greenhouse Project, debuted at #12 on the iTunes Christian Charts, highlighting his growth and versatility. Teezy followed with albums Before the Fall (2024), New Leaf (2024), and New Leaf: The Growth Continues (2025). In 2025, the single "He Missed Me" reached the 5th place in Gospel Digital Songs chart.
