Farina is a Colombian singer and songwriter of Peruvian and Chinese descent who launched her musical career on the Colombian show 'El Factor X' in 2005, where she came third. She is one of the pioneers of reggaeton music in Colombia and was the first female Colombian singer to perform in that genre. Following her success in the 'El Factor X', Farina released her debut album 'Yo Soy Farina' and the single 'Regresa A Mi' in 2006. The album had a dancehall flavour. It was followed by a single release 'Hasta El Final' in 2009, which had a more R&B feel to it.

In 2011 Farina made her acting debut on a Colombian soap opera called 'Tres Milagros'. Her return to music in 2012 saw the release of a second album 'Del Odio al Amor' on which she performed her own compositions. The album was produced by DJ Lago and included singles 'Soñar No Cuesta Nada', 'Money', 'Milagros Cruz' and international hit 'Pongan Atención'. Her single 'Pum Pum' was featured on the album 'Reggaetown Hits 2014', a compilation of various artists.

In 2016 Farina began a collaboration with Wyclef Jean, writing the singles 'Casanova', 'Hendrix Remix' and 'Party Started'. In 2017, she was only the second Colombian artist after Shakira to sign for Jay-Z's record label Roc Nation. She launched the single 'Mejor Que Yo', produced by duo A&X on this label and it reached the top ten of the Urban Charts in Colombia. Also in 2017, she recorded the trap single 'Todo', a reggae song 'El Problema' and a dancehall single 'Mucho Pa' Ti'. These singles were part of a series of songs which Farina released only on digital platforms.

In 2018 Farina signed for the label Sony Music Latin and released the singles 'Ego' and 'Superarte' (featuring Miky Woodz). This was followed in 2019 by the single 'Perras Como Tú' featuring Tokischa, and solo single 'Como una Kardashian'.
