The Honey Drippers, a British rock band, were formed in Worcestershire, England, in 1981 by Robert Plant, the former lead singer of Led Zeppelin. The group was initially a cover band with a heavy rhythm and blues basis. The original lineup included Andy Silvester on guitar, Kevin O'Neill on drums, Ricky Cool on harmonica, Jim Hickman on bass, Keith Evans on saxophone, Wayne Terry on bass, and Robbie Blunt on guitar. The Honey Drippers released their only recording, an EP titled The Honeydrippers: Volume One, on November 12, 1984. This EP featured notable musicians including Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and Paul Shaffer. The band achieved significant chart success with "Sea of Love", a remake of the Phil Phillips tune, which peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1985. They also hit number 25 with "Rockin' at Midnight", originally recorded by Roy Brown. Despite the EP's success and Plant's statement that a full album would be recorded, it never materialized. The Honey Drippers disbanded in 1985.
