Biography

Double Grammy Award winner Rodney Crowell was already a member of Nashville royalty prior to his recording career taking off. As the husband of Johnny Cash's daughter Rosanne, Crowell was well connected in the country music capital and as well as his successful professional association with his wife as a songwriter and producer, he had artists of the calibre of Emmylou Harris, Waylon Jennings, Bob Seger and even his own father-in-law record versions of his songs.

After a period spent almost exclusively producing his wife's albums Crowell signed to Columbia and became an extremely successful crossover artist. His 1988 album 'Diamonds and Dirt' spawned no less than five consecutive number one singles in 17 months. Crowell has remained a consistently successful country music songwriter and producer in a career spanning five decades.

In recent years he has re-established his performing partnership with Emmylou Harris and in 2013 they released the album 'Old Yellow Moon' securing Crowell the second of his two Grammy Awards. His talents continue to be in demand by some of America's top performers and in 2017 his album 'Close Ties' featured a duet between Crowell and Sheryl Crow.
