Biography

The Anthony Ventura Orchestra was founded by Werner Becker, born on December 4, 1941 in Hamburg. Werner Becker, a talented arranger and composer, became known under the pseudonym Anthony Ventura and established himself as one of the leading figures in the easy listening music scene. The orchestra consisted mainly of studio musicians whose exact line-up changed frequently, which is why permanent members cannot always be named. The orchestra's music is mainly associated with the easy listening genre, which is characterized by its gentle, melodic arrangements and catchy melodies. The orchestra gained particular fame with the release of the Je t'aime series. The album Je t'aime - Traum-Melodien was released in 1973 and reached number 5 in the German charts. This was followed by further albums such as Je t'aime - Die schönsten Melodien der Welt and Je t'aime - Traum-Melodien 2, which also achieved high chart positions. The best-known titles include "Je t'aime", "Love Story" and "Melancholy Serenade". These songs have become known for their gentle, orchestral interpretation of love songs and film melodies. With further compilations such as 20 Traum-Melodien (1977), Die schönsten Melodien der Welt (1980) and Die schönsten Melodien der Welt Nr. 2 (1981), the Anthony Ventura Orchestra achieved three number 1 successes in Germany. During his active career, Werner Becker received numerous awards for his services to music, including gold records and high sales figures for his Je t'aime series. These successes confirmed his influence and the popularity of his unique musical style, which continues to delight fans all over the world to this day.
