Glamour girl Samantha Fox is fondly remembered for entertaining and enlightening in the 1980s during her days as the nation's leading pin-up girl, but she also turned her talents to a music career that produced a string of raunchy and kitsch pop singles.

Born in East London, she won a modelling contest held by 'The Sunday People' newspaper when she was just 16 and started appearing on the pages of The Sun soon afterwards. By 1986 she was a household name and mainstream celebrity and, with the help of Jive Records, was launched as a pop star with the single 'Touch Me'. With its suggestive lyrics it became a top five hit in both the UK and the US, while an album of the same name proved successful across Europe. Singles 'Do Ya, Do Ya (Wanna Please Me)' and 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now' followed a similar format and both made the top ten in the UK, but her hosting of the Brit Awards with Mick Fleetwood in 1989, strewn with mistakes and awkward moments, became an unfortunate notorious moment in pop culture.

Her third album 'I Wanna Have Some Fun' fared surprisingly well in Canada and Austria and she continued having small hits such as 'Love House' and 'I Only Wanna Be With You', as well as taking on acting roles and presenting jobs in the 1990s. She also competed to be the UK's Eurovision representative in 1995 but finished fourth in the competition and later re-launched herself with the help of Ibiza dance producer DJ Milano. After that she made sporadic appearances on celebrity TV shows, including 'Big Brother', 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' and 'Come Dine With Me'.
