César Martín playing the marimba and Ciro Hernández playing the violoncello. They both joined forces in January 2008 and from that alliance, fruit of their passion for music, was born Socos Dúo. This formation moves away from the conventions. Its composition work feeds from jazz, folklore or minimalism, always searching for new sonorities that led them to investigate and nourish themselves from different sources and then generating a different repertoire.
In March 2014, the first Socos Duo's work came into existence. Their album "These times we are living", edited by the Ear Conditioning seal, shows the perfect tandem formed by these two instruments.
In 2017, they released "Mantra", taking another step on the path that they started with their previous album. Now they have created a repertoire of their authorship joined by the not very common timbre of Úyanga Bold, who has both a young and old voice. She is the reflection of the Ancestral traditions, also permeable to new currents. With this record, Socos Duo seeks to capture the different drives of the soul, the stages of the future of humanity in search of the desired balance, a guiding compass, an inner mantra. The wood percussion and the bowed string, a dichotomy of sonorities, live together with the voice of Úyanga Bold. They manage to transfer the listeners into this universe of opposing sensations and take them by the hand where dream and reality converge, experiencing an unusual warmth.
In this way, the listener passes through passages full of chiaroscuro, plagued with uncertainties that invite him to reflect on the reality that inhabits and the reality he projects. Socos Dúo thrown this question in the same way that Schopenhauer formulated it: "tearing The Veil of Maya"; looking at the truth in the eyes, until discovering that the answer is in the beauty that dwells in oneself, in arts and music.
