SHKOUN is an alternative pop-rock group formed in 2003 in Brunoy, France, in the Paris region, not far from Paris. First founded under the name SHKOUN HADOUMA after several trials of line up and several EPs, Shkoun I, Shkoun II, the quintet is now involved in the production of a first album Dis A Tout Le Monde (2006). Later, the line up changes, with the recording of the album Délit De Suite, which was released in 2010. SHKOUN signs with the label Ciage/May I Record, for a national release and distribution on all platforms. This is followed by a digital EP Five Twenty One Century Tales - Believe Music (2015) under the name of SHKOUN & NKOG, produced by the producer and sound engineer, NkoG. This will generate several video clips that can be viewed on YouTube. SHKOUN has been active since 2003. It is a long adventure born from the meeting of Geraldine Bernard (vocals and keyboard) and Mamen Zerrouki (guitars and vocals) They met by chance one evening in Brunoy. Mamen, is already a seasoned professional, who has played in Parisian clubs, London clubs, and who getting back from a tour abroad. He is also a songwriter - composer, and multi-instrumentalist, he has under his belt, more than 200 compositions. Geraldine, for her part, has always written and sung alone! She has developed a musical culture inherited from her father as a guitarist. As a little girl she took piano lessons, which she quickly stopped, no longer bearing the dictates of her harsh old teacher.
SHKOUN changed its musical orientation several times. The first EPs, from 2003 to 2010, were released under the name SHKOUN HADOUMA (which means "who are they?", in Arabic). From 2015 to today, the official name of the releases is SHKOUN.
Do, (François Deléan), bass, is SHKOUN's first bass player. He has a long background as a bass player. He worked on several projects, mainly in London before being swallowed up by a black hole: SHKOUN. He is part of the EP Shkoun I. He is involved in other projects on his own (Les Chiens De La Casse) and since 2016; he has been caught up in the attraction of SHKOUN once more.
Zym Boom ( Arno Audouard) drums, started by the bass, before finally getting into the drums. He participated in several projects (The White, Histamine and L.E.M), before being caught up in the cosmic radiation that carried him to SHKOUN. He will bring his sound colour to Shkoun II (2004) and to the album Dis A Tout Le Monde (2006). He finally left the group, and joined Shkoun in 2015, while participating in several musical projects in parallel, and on other dimensions. SHKOUN finally finds its roots with Zym Boom and Do.
Zym Boom: Drums, vocals and Machines. DO: Bass & vocals. Mamen: Guitars, samples vocals. Géraldine: Lead Vocal, keyboards.
SHKOUN is working, over and over again on his next album Collision, which will be released when the stars are aligned... Currently composing them cross the solar winds, SHKOUN is fed by melodic meteorite storms. Collision is an extraordinary musical quest that will not escape the creative impact of a new and better world, we believe in it.
SHKOUN keeps going as long as the Force and inspiration are there.
