Marcello De Carolis is a Lucanian musician specialized in classical guitar and chitarra battente. After graduating in classical guitar he attended numerous courses and master classes held by different masters including: Angelo Gilardino, Luca Fabrizio, Roland Dyens, Leo Brower, Aniello Desiderio. He undertakes the study of the chitarra battente with the master Francesco Loccisano. In 2015 he founded, together with the maestro Luca Fabrizio, the duo "Cordaminazioni" in which he plays the Classical Guitar and the chitarra battente and with which he recorded the homonymous record (Cordaminazioni. In 2017 the maestro Angelo Gilardino dedicates to him and to the maestro Luca Fabrizio the composition "Solitary Tree" for swing guitar and classical guitar and in 2018 the "Gilardino: Matera Concert for chitarra battente and 10 Instruments". The collaboration with Francesco Loccisano led him to the publication of "La chitarra battente - base
method" published by fingerpicking.net and to the recording of the album "Venti".
In 2021 De Carolis published the first soloist album "The Eclectic Beating - Contemporary Music for Chitarra Battente" where he discovered the possibility of the Chitarra Battente.
