Singer-songwriter and musician Ares Gratal was born in the Catalan city of Lleida and has been living in Berlin for more than a decade.
In addition to singing, she plays saxophone and accordion, and writes music and lyrics.
Her musical style is influenced by traditional Catalan song, Latin American music and jazz.
Ares Gratal studied classical music since she was a child and participated in several musical formations.
She is currently part of several musical projects in Berlin, with very different styles.
In 2021 she starts her first solo project with her debut album "Impronunciable (unpronounceable)" composed by original compositions.
In it, Ares revisits the words of her late grandfather, a poet who wrote about life, relationships and death through images of nature.
In this album, the composer also takes the listener into her dream world and shares her philosophical thoughts.
The album is completed by the musicalization of 3 poems with which the artist grew up, as well as a composition in Hebrew by Israeli accordionist Ira Shiran, the album's arranger.
In 2023, her Catalan rumba single "Orfes De Rei (A Peret)" was released, a song that will be part of her second album, which will be released in 2024
