Down Low, a German rap group from Kaiserslautern, was formed in December 1995 by Joe Thompson and Darren Tucker. Their music career began with the 1995 single "Don’t Look Any Further," but their breakthrough came with "Vision Of Life" in March 1996, which charted for 18 weeks in Germany. Darren Tucker left shortly after, replaced by Mike Dalien. The band released their debut album Visions in September 1996, followed by notable singles such as "Murder" and "Lovething / We Do It Like That." Their second album, It Ain’t Over, was released in November 1997 and featured the hit single "Johnny B." Down Low continued to release albums including Third Dimension (1998) and The 4th Level (2001), with Mike Dalien leaving during the latter's production. The band faced declining interest in Eurorap but released several singles, including "Living In The Ghetto" (2003). Down Low returned to music in 2006 with the album Return Of The Trendsetter, featuring singles like "Every Day (MMMM)" and "Africa." Mike Dalien rejoined briefly in 2010, contributing to the sampler Legends-and-Diamonds. Subsequent releases include "Party 2 Night" (2013), "Friday Night" (2014), "Fields of Gold" (2017), and "Fire & Gold" (2022).
