Miguel Bosé is a Panamanian actor and pop singer known for his playful personality whose long career has featured appearances in many Spanish-language movies, international concert performances and a long list of recordings including several nominated for Latin Grammy Awards. He is the son of Italian actress Lucia Bosé and Spanish matador Luis Miguel Dominguin whose circle of friends included Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway and Luchino Visconti.
He began acting at a young age and earned success as a pop singer in Latin America and southern Europe during the 1980s. His 1984 album 'Bandido' raised his profile internationally and the single 'Amante Bandido' was a hit in Spain and across Latin America. His 2002 release 'Sereno' went to number 70 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums Chart, won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Album and was nominated as Album of the Year with the single 'Morena Mia' nominated as Song of the Year. In 2007, he collaborated with other Latin artists such as Juanes, Ricky Martin, Shakira, Laura Pausini, Julieta Venegas and Alejandro Sanz on 'Papito', which features new versions of many of his hits from the previous 30 years. It went to number six on the Latin Albums Chart and was nominated as Best Latin Pop Album in the Grammy Awards with nominations as Album of the Year and Best Male Pop Album in the Latin Grammys with the single 'Nena' nominated as Record of the Year. Also that year, he released 'Papitour' with a concert DVD that was nominated as Best Long Form Music Video in the 2008 Latin Grammy Awards.
His 2010 release 'Cardio' reached number seven on the Latin Albums Chart and earned a nod as Album of the Year in the Latin Grammy Awards. 2012's 'Papitwo' returned to the greatest hits revisited format and peaked at number five on the Latin Chart with nominations in the Latin Grammy Awards as Album of the Year and Best Contemporary Pop Vocal Album. 'Amo' (2014) went to number 16 on the Latin Chart and earned nominations as Best Contemporary Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year in the Latin Grammy Awards with the single 'Encanto' nominated as Record of the Year. 'MTV Unplugged' (2016) reached number seven on the Latin Chart and the accompanying DVD was nominated as Best Long Form Music Video in the Latin Grammy Awards. He starred in a Spanish television special titled 'Bosé' in 2016 and his 2018 schedule included appearances at venues in Colombia.
