Before fronting the Americana band Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, singer-songwriter Drew Holcomb was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on May 13, 1982. He attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee, then relocated to Nashville following his graduation. It was there that he formed Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors — a band whose members included Nathan Dugger (guitar), Rich Brinsfield (bass), and Drew's wife, Ellie Holcomb (backing vocals) — in 2005. Early releases like 2005's Washed in Blue, 2008's Passenger Seat, and 2009's A Million Miles Away failed to chart, but 2013's Chasing Someday proved to be a breakthrough, reading Number 183 on the Billboard 200, Number 8 on the Americana/Folk Albums chart, and Number 39 on the Top Rock Albums chart. Ellie Holcomb left the lineup after 2013's Good Light, which charted at Number 84 on the Billboard 200 and Number 5 on Americana/Folk Albums — and Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors operated as a boys club thereafter, releasing albums like 2015's Medicine, 2016's Live at the Ryman, 2017's Souvenir, and 2019's Dragons. All four of those records were Top 10 hits on the Americana/Folk chart, with the Dragons track "End of the World" becoming a Top 40 hit on the Adult Alternative chart. Strangers No More followed in 2023 and became the band's first Number 1 hit on the Americana/Folk Albums chart. The album's lead single, "Find Your People," was also successful, reaching Number 40 on the Adult Alternative chart that summer.
