Desert Lake is a meditative music project from veteran Bay Area producer Layne Fox, whose 25-year journey through electronic music has included acclaimed work with 40 Thieves, Musik Nonstop, and Ruffy & Tuffy. With releases on respected labels like Strut, Rong Music, Claremont 56, and DFA, Fox has spent decades shaping dancefloors - now, with Desert Lake, he shifts focus to crafting inner landscapes.
These compositions favor clarity and calm over complexity. Built on warm, low-end synths and grounded harmonic textures, Desert Lake tracks are purposefully minimal - designed to quiet the mind and slow the breath.
