Biography

Country artist Margo Price, born April 15, 1983 was moved to Nashville at 20 and immersed herself in the music scene, establishing her musical credentials. She was part of the band Buffalo Clover, and was respected enough that before she made her debut solo album, Rolling Stone Country identified her as a Country Artist You Need to Know in 2014. Price got her recording break with Jack White's Third Man Records who released her self-financed debut album, Midwest Farmer's Daughter, in 2016. Its mix of traditionalist country and singer/songwriter storytelling met with universal critical acclaim and it went to number 10 in America and topped the UK country chart. 2017’s All American Made featured the single “A Little Pain”, which nabbed Price Song of the Year at the 2018 Americana Music Honors & Awards. Her profile grew after snagging a 2019 Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Her 2020 album That’s How Rumors Get Started, produced by Sturgill Simpson, showcased her evolving sound, focusing on production and arrangements rather than the more intimate and raw sound of her first album.
