Democrash is a unique, experimental band from Portugal, founded in 2014. They combine a wide range of genres to create a sound that’s both punk-driven, deeply eclectic, and that incorporates elements from funk, krautrock, garage rock, and electronic music.
This genre-mixing approach allows them to stand out with a style that is both vintage and modern, drawing in fans who enjoy an experimental, unfiltered approach to music. Their live shows are high-energy and often feature performance art elements that enhance the visual and emotional intensity of their music.
The new album, “Important People”, released in 2025, expands on a dystopian universe of invisible structures that shape our perception of identity, value and reality. Each track is an episode in this collapse, where recognition becomes currency, the body a symbol and language a trap. Available on vinyl and CD, as well as on all digital platforms, this album is a denunciation of the slow collapse of the ‘I’ in the midst of algorithms, distractions and false utopias.
Their recent projects include the album ‘Propelled By Gas From Cans Of Soda’, released in 2022, which already reflects the band's creative freedom and their genre-defying approach, with a distinctly modern and courageous touch.
