Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode!A marriage rarely ends in one dramatic moment. More often it fades through a thousand small misses, the slow silence after the kids leave, and the same fight that starts the same way for years. So when people ask, “Can AI save a marriage?” I think this question is asked more and more nowadays.I dig into the Gray Divorce Revolution and why divorce after 50 keeps rising, even as overall divorce rates decline. I talk about the real reasons people give for late life divorce: emotional emptiness, growing apart, and “we stopped talking.” Then I zoom in on what John Gottman’s work reveals about conflict: the startup, not the subject, often predicts where the conversation and the relationship will go. I also assess couples therapy outcomes, and why many couples wait years before getting help. Then I finally bring AI into the room, with a clear boundary. If this hits home, subscribe, share it with someone who might benefit, and leave a review so more people can find these science and soul conversations.Support the showInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/sandyknutrition/Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/sandyknutritionTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@sandyknutritionYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIh48ov-SgbSUXsVeLL2qAgRumble: https://rumble.com/c/c-5461001Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sandyknutrition/Substack: https://sandykruse.substack.com/Podcast Website: https://sandykruse.ca

Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode! Can ayahuasca actually heal you — or does it just crack you open before you're ready?Everyone's talking about ayahuasca right now. A celebrity swears it changed their life, and suddenly you're wondering if this ancient plant medicine is the shortcut to healing, happiness, and finally feeling alive again. In this solo episode, I hold two things at once: the higher self — what it actually is — and ayahuasca, the Amazonian brew the wellness world has turned into a shortcut to enlightenment. And I ask the question underneath all the hype: why it's genuinely good for a few people, and genuinely not for most.I get into the neuroscience of ego dissolution and the Default Mode Network, why your nervous system heals a drop at a time — not in one overwhelming night — and the real research most people never hear: the treatment-resistant depression trials, the global survey of nearly 11,000 ayahuasca users, the serious risks and drug interactions, and the people who came home from the jungle and couldn't put their lives back together.I've never done ayahuasca. I'm not here to sell it or scare you off it. Just the research, the soul, and the honest conversation nobody else is having.Passion over profit. Science and Soul, always. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode! You've been sold the three-day cleanse, the celery juice, the tea with a coupon code. And you've probably also heard a doctor say detox is nonsense because your body already does it on its own. Both are missing the same thing: drainage. In this episode I break down — in plain language — what detoxification actually is, what drainage is, and why one has to come before the other. I walk you through the machinery: the liver, the kidneys, the bowel, the skin, the lungs, and the lymph — the system with no pump, which moves only when you do.Then I get into what changes in midlife. Liver capacity drops. Glutathione declines. Kidney filtration slows decade by decade. Motility slows, and low estrogen and low thyroid make it worse. Estrogen influences how your gallbladder empties and how thick your bile gets, which is why gallbladder issues climb for women at exactly this stage. Menopause isn't only hot flashes and broken sleep. It's a drainage story.I also cover:- Liver phase one and phase two — and the reason phase one can make you feel worse before phase two catches up- The emunctories — your organs of elimination — and the order you have to open them- Biotherapeutic drainage and UNDA: the early-1900s European lineage behind Nebel, Discry and Reuter, and how a plant tincture paired with a homeopathic metal actually targets a specific organ- MTHFR, methylation as a phase two pathway, and my own genetics — held without the internet's drama- Where drainage costs nothing, and the free daily practices I'd start with- My own experience with cysts under the arm, and how I read it- Why emotional stagnation is a terrain too, and what it means to drain the soulNothing here is medical advice. I'm giving you breadcrumbs — take them to a qualified practitioner, one trained specifically in drainage. If this one lands, share it with one person and hit follow. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode! How do you actually rewire your brain and break the patterns running your life? Not through willpower. Not through more insight. Through the practices that reach the level where the wiring actually lives. In this episode, I go deep on the neuroscience and the soul of real change — for anyone who has done the therapy, had the insight, and still ends up back in the same pattern. That is not a willpower problem. It is a wiring problem. And wiring can change. What I cover:What neural pathways are and how they formNeuroplasticity and how the brain restructures itself at any ageThe brainwave states where deep change becomes possible (and why theta matters so much)Memory reconsolidation — the window where old programming can be rewrittenWhy the body must be included, not just the mindThe neurochemistry that makes old patterns feel addictiveEvery major modality with real research behind it — meditation, EFT tapping, breathwork, somatic release, loving-kindness practice, theta-state work, and BEAM TherapyMy own journey with these practices, including my mentor Brenda Farrugia of So BrilliantI want to name something directly. You do not need me to bring on an expert to educate you on this from a place of bias. I come to every episode the same way I have from the beginning — passion over profit, no bias, always. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode!I break down what the newest research says about cigarettes, vaping, and nicotine pouches, and why the “glamour” narrative is never the same thing as health. I also connect nicotine to addiction science, menopause and HRV, and the deeper emotional reasons people reach for a chemical pause button. Beware of those posts from wellness "influencers" telling you to use their discount code for the miracle nicotine gum "nootropic" for your brain...you need all the facts before you decide if it's right for you.• 90s nostalgia and media trends that glamorize smoking again • the hard science on cigarette combustion, toxins, and long-term risk • what 2026 studies suggest about vaping and cardiovascular harm • where the vaping and cancer evidence is early, mixed, and still concerning • nicotine pouches as “clean” marketing versus heart and oral health realities • why nicotine can feel like focus while strengthening dependence • quit-rate data and why repeated attempts are normal, not weakness • menopause, estrogen, HRV, and nicotine as a fight-or-flight drug • the “thing under the thing” and what we are trying not to feel - you know I will always bring a little bit of soul into every podcast episode.I am one of the rare independent podcasts left...please do your part to help support me to keep going 6+ years and I know how much my integrity has helped the wellness space. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode!I connect the Phoenix Eye thumb marking to the neuroscience of empathy, intuition, and moral sensitivity, starting with a moment where my dog mirrors the pain she sees on screen. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode!I unpack karma as action rather than revenge, using ancient teachings to show how intention and attachment shape the consequences we live with. I connect that spiritual idea to neuroscience, stress physiology, epigenetics, and Saturn as a symbol of time and accountability, then bring it home with one clear practice: stop betraying yourself. • why I shifted toward solo, research-led conversations without a sales pitch • karma defined as action and cause and effect, not punishment • intention as the real generator of consequences • releasing attachment to outcomes as a discipline • karma as “residue” through neuroplasticity and stress load • resentment, cortisol, inflammation and the health cost of replaying harm • forgiveness as a physiological act of self-rescue • generational trauma, epigenetics and what families pass down • Saturn, Capricorn energy and the long arc of consequence • the core practice of catching self-abandonment and choosing yourself If this podcast moved something in you, share it with another person who may also find it fascinating, interesting, unbiased, and worthwhile. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode! In this episode of Sandy K Nutrition – Health & Lifestyle Queen, I explore what actually protects a long marriage after 50 — and why the people and pressures around a couple matter as much as what happens between them. This isn't typical marriage advice. I bring the research on family systems and relationships, then connect it to something most conversations leave out: your health.Long marriages don't hold or come apart by accident. The research shows that outside influence — friends, extended family, social circles — quietly shapes a marriage over time, for better or worse. I walk through what that looks like in real life, and how couples in midlife can protect what they've built without cutting everyone else out.I also talk about why this belongs in a health conversation at all. The state of your closest relationships isn't separate from your wellbeing — chronic relational stress affects the nervous system and shows up in the body. I don't look at wellness in pieces, and your most important relationships are one of the most powerful health variables you have. What I cover in this episode:- How outside influence shapes a long marriage over time- What family systems research says about in-law dynamics and boundaries- How the people around you can quietly shift a couple's norms- The difference between protecting a marriage and isolating it- Why your closest relationships are a real health variable after 50This episode is for women in midlife and anyone in a long marriage who wants the real research.ABOUT SANDYI'm Sandy Kruse, a Registered Holistic Nutritionist & Certified Metabolic Balance coach with certifications in functional lab testing, clinical nutrition, hormones and endocrinology, and peptides and anti-aging. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode!I connect the dots behind “The Great Unmasking,” explaining why 2026 looks like a year of disclosure across institutions, celebrity culture, and our own private lives. I share how integrity, nervous system strength, and discernment help us stay grounded as illusions collapse and truth becomes harder to ignore. • connecting psychology, sociology, energy, intuition, history, and astrology into one holistic framework • explaining “disclosure” as both global and personal, not just political • naming COVID as a global mirror that reveals fear, manipulation, numbing, and self reflection • describing the illusion based world: optics over integrity, secrecy over transparency, PR over truth • breaking down the “boys’ club” as a pattern that protects power and punishes truth tellers • unpacking celebrity and influencer culture: pay to play, bought image, fake expertise, media manipulation • exploring money based identity and why status without essence collapses • using Pluto in Aquarius and historical rhyme as pattern recognition, not prediction • outlining the psychology of awakening: cognitive dissonance, legitimacy collapse, collective trauma • offering tools: nervous system regulation, emotional intelligence, shadow work, triggers, aligned community If this show resonates with you, please follow rate, review, and share it. We share a real story about asking for transparency, connect the pattern to midlife boundaries and menopause clarity, and lay out a better way to talk about accountability without mockery. • why “Karen” functions as a silencing mechanism, especially for midlife women • a personal example of requesting transparency, getting dismissed, and choosing to leave an honest review • the timeline from early comedy and Reddit memes to the 2020 mainstream explosion • the double standard where men are praised for speaking up while women are punished • how the UNALOM spiral maps overwhelm, survival patterns, and the return to self • why aging and menopause can trigger a powerful “I’m done” phase and renewed confidence • replacing labels with clear language about integrity, boundaries, and balance Please follow, rate, review, and share it. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode! If you’ve ever looked at your life and thought, “I don’t recognize myself anymore,” this episode explains exactly why — and how you find your way back. Women don’t lose themselves because they’re weak. They lose themselves because their brains adapt to decades of emotional labour, caregiving, survival patterns, and the pressure to be everything for everyone. In this deep, neuroscience‑anchored episode, I break down the four stages of the Unalome at a metaphor for a woman's life — the spiral, the knots, the straight line, and the point — the psychological and biological map of a woman who forgets herself… and then remembers. You’ll learn:• why women “disappear” inside roles, responsibility & emotional overload• the brain changes that drive identity loss in your 30s, 40s & 50s• why you repeat the same patterns (overgiving, overfunctioning, self‑silencing)• the midlife awakening — the moment you finally say “I’m done”• the four stages of the Unalome and how to know which one you’re in• the practical steps that move you from overwhelm → clarity → returnThis episode is for the woman who whispers, “I miss me.”You’re not lost. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode! If women are wired for connection, why do some of our worst social pains come from other women? This episode unpacks the biology, psychology, and social conditioning behind female competition and what to do about it.I explore the tend-and-befriend stress response, oxytocin, cortisol, and nervous system safety, and then connect the quality of female friendship directly to midlife health, cognitive protection, and healthy aging. High-strain relationships aren't just emotionally exhausting — they carry a measurable physical health toll.I name what rarely gets named: scarcity conditioning, the patriarchal bargain, tall poppy syndrome, social media's strategic withholding, and how shame — as Brené Brown's research shows — spills outward as blame, silencing, and social coalitions. Attachment theory and the norm of reciprocity round out the picture. You'll leave knowing the clear signs of an unsafe friendship and three grounded ways to protect your energy without compromising your integrity.Topics covered:The "tend and befriend" response and female bonding hormonesHow friendship quality drives midlife wellness and brain healthShame resilience and why women sometimes wound the people closest to themTall poppy syndrome, exclusion, and reputation managementPractical boundaries for navigating toxic female dynamicsSupport the showInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/sandyknutrition/Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/sandyknutritionTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@sandyknutritionYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIh48ov-SgbSUXsVeLL2qAgRumble: https://rumble.com/c/c-5461001Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sandyknutrition/Substack: https://sandykruse.substack.com/Podcast Website: https://sandykruse.ca

Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode! What happens when you stop trying to look "good for your age" and start living like you're allowed to take up space?I sit down with Carrie Olver — one of Canada's most recognized on-air TV personalities and broadcast veterans — for a refreshingly honest conversation about visibility, confidence, reinvention, and what it really means to own your midlife era with style and intention. We get into what it's like to age on camera in an industry that often treats women like they have an expiry date — and why that narrative is finally starting to shift. Carrie opens up about what public criticism felt like earlier in her career, how social media bullying shows up differently today, and the mindset work that helps her let most of it roll off without losing herself in the process. We talk about the pressure women face to constantly explain or justify their appearance, their choices, and their bodies — and what it looks like to stop doing that. Whether you're navigating your own reinvention, stepping more fully into who you are, or simply trying to feel confident and visible in a world that doesn't always make space for women over 40, this conversation will meet you where you are.We also go deeper into the wellness side of midlife — clearing physical clutter and mental clutter, letting go of outdated success markers, and what it feels like to find real flow state when you're fully present in your own life. If you've been feeling stuck, overstretched, or like something needs to shift, you'll find a lot in this episode to sit with.Plus, Carrie shares the story behind Carry O — her made-in-Canada fashion line created specifically for changing bodies. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode! You've probably been told your appendix and tonsils are basically optional. I don't buy that — and the research backs me up.In this episode I break down the full story on two of the most dismissed organs in the body. What they actually do, why they matter more than you've been told, what drives removal, and what can shift afterward — plus how to support yourself whether you still have them or not.Your appendix is an active microbiome reservoir that helps reseed your gut after illness, infection, or antibiotics, and plays a direct role in IgA immune regulation. Your tonsils are your immune system's first line of defense — tied to your oral microbiome, lymphatic drainage, airway mechanics, and vagus nerve tone. These are not evolutionary leftovers. They are functional, living parts of systems your body depends on daily.I cover what actually drives appendicitis and tonsil failure, the connection to dysbiosis and chronic inflammation, and what people notice after removal — gut reactivity, anxiety, shifted gut-brain signaling, and immune changes. I also walk through the practical tools that support your body on both sides — fibre, prebiotics, polyphenols, gut barrier support, warm salt water gargling, nasal breathing, tongue posture, anti-inflammatory nutrition, hydration, and nervous system regulation.I also explore the somatic and energetic layer — safety and intuition with the appendix, and voice, truth, and boundaries with the tonsils. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode!“You don’t need it” is one of the most casually dismissive sentences in modern wellness. Gallbladder removal and uterus removal are common surgeries, yet many people notice real shifts afterward and they’re left trying to understand what changed and why.In Part 1 of this two‑episode series, I break down what the gallbladder and uterus actually do, how to keep them healthy, what can shift after removal, and how to support your wellness with clarity instead of confusion.Gallbladder Removal (Cholecystectomy):• what the gallbladder does: bile timing, fat digestion, fat‑soluble vitamins• why gallbladders fail: rapid weight loss, low‑fat dieting, estrogen shifts, insulin resistance, genetics, GLP‑1 meds (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro)• common symptoms after gallbladder removal: bloating, diarrhea, urgency, fat intolerance• microbiome changes and nutrient absorption• myths people hear after surgery• practical supports: bitter greens, hydration, magnesium, digestive enzymes with lipase + ox bileUterus Removal (Hysterectomy):• why the uterus is far more than a reproductive organ• pelvic nerves, ovarian blood flow, libido inputs• hormone shifts after uterus removal• progesterone myths, estrogen dominance, painful periods that deserve investigation• emotional and somatic changes some women experience after hysterectomy• how to advocate for hormone testing, gut support, and nervous system regulationIf you’ve already had gallbladder removal or uterus removal, this episode gives you language, options, and a grounded understanding of what your body may need moving forward.Next week in Part 2: Appendix and Tonsils - what they do, why they matter, and what can shift when they’re gone.If this episode helps you, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a quick rating and review so more people can find balanced, bias‑free conversations to support our wellness - science + soul.Support the showInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/sandyknutrition/Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/sandyknutritionTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@sandyknutritionYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIh48ov-SgbSUXsVeLL2qAgRumble: https://rumble.com/c/c-5461001Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sandyknutrition/Substack: https://sandykruse.substack.com/Podcast Website: https://sandykruse.ca

Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode!Ever notice how you can eat bread and pasta in Europe and feel completely fine but the moment you’re back home, the bloating, fatigue, and brain fog return?I want to understand exactly why.In this episode, I break down what’s really happening in your body when you travel and why it has far less to do with “magic food” and far more to do with your nervous system.Because when your body finally feels safe, everything changes. When you’ve been living in a constant state of stress, your sympathetic nervous system stays activated. Cortisol remains elevated, digestion slows, your vagus nerve becomes suppressed, and your body shifts into survival mode. That affects everything from how you break down food to how you think, feel, and show up.Then you get on a plane, land somewhere slower, and suddenly… You feel like yourself again. This isn’t random. It’s biology. In this episode, I walk you through:Why bread and pasta may feel easier to digest in EuropeThe real differences in wheat, fermentation, and food qualityHow stress and the nervous system directly impact digestionWhy you feel calmer, lighter, and more present when you travelWhat’s actually happening with alcohol tolerance on vacationHow walking, sunlight, and circadian rhythm reset your bodyWhy slowing down improves blood sugar, hormones, and gut healthBut more importantly, I show you how to bring this home.Because you don’t need a plane ticket to feel better in your body. The anchor for this episode is a word I love: Pomalo, a Croatian philosophy that means little by little, slow down. Most of you know, I am a Croatian girl. I love this word. That’s how real healing happens. If you’ve been feeling disconnected from your body, stuck in stress, or frustrated that you feel better everywhere except your real life, this episode will change how you see it.Subscribe, share it with someone who needs a reset, and leave a review so more people can find this message.Support the showInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/sandyknutrition/Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/sandyknutritionTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@sandyknutritionYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIh48ov-SgbSUXsVeLL2qAgRumble: https://rumble.com/c/c-5461001Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sandyknutrition/Substack: https://sandykruse.substack.com/Podcast Website: https://sandykruse.ca

Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode!Gen X vulnerability, shame, nervous system triggers, emotional regulation, crying, and midlife overwhelm — this episode breaks down why vulnerability feels confusing, unsafe, or even threatening for so many Gen X adults. If you grew up with “don’t cry,” “be tough,” or “stop making a scene,” your nervous system learned to treat emotional expression as danger.I dig into the neurobiology of shame, how emotional tears down‑regulate the stress response, and why someone else’s vulnerability can activate your own threat system. Using Brené Brown’s definition of shame as the belief that we’re unworthy of love and belonging, I explore how fast shame fires and why it often shows up as irritation, shutdown, or control. Then I drop Gen X into today’s world: performed vulnerability on social media, comment‑section shame spirals, and a constant stream of emotional content that overwhelms a nervous system built for face‑to‑face co‑regulation.I close with grounded boundaries, accountable vulnerability, and practical regulation tools, plus a clear look at medical factors that can blunt emotion — SSRIs, hormones, thyroid issues, ADHD, autism, trauma history, and chronic stress. If you know the “don’t cry” script by heart, this one will land.Support the showInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/sandyknutrition/Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/sandyknutritionTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@sandyknutritionYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIh48ov-SgbSUXsVeLL2qAgRumble: https://rumble.com/c/c-5461001Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sandyknutrition/Substack: https://sandykruse.substack.com/Podcast Website: https://sandykruse.ca

Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode! If you’re bloated, refluxy, exhausted after meals, stuck in cravings, or frustrated that your metabolism won’t budge—even though you’re fasting, cold plunging, tracking glucose, taking supplements, and stacking every “health hack”—this episode is your reset. Most people focus on what they eat. Almost no one talks about how they eat. And that missing step can change digestion, metabolism, satiety, and weight loss more than another protocol ever will.In this episode, I break down the rise in digestive issues and the physiology behind why your body may not be responding to your efforts. You’ll learn how the cephalic phase of digestion—the brain-driven stage that turns on stomach acid, enzymes, bile, motility, and nutrient absorption before the first bite—can make or break your results.I explore:Why rushing, stress, and screens blunt digestion and spike cortisolHow the same meal can create a totally different glucose response depending on your nervous systemWhy emotional safety and sensory engagement at mealtimes improve metabolismHow cooking, smelling, and anticipating food “primes” digestionThe simple pre-meal practice that can reduce bloating, stabilize glucose, and curb cravings in one weekIf you want better digestion, smoother glucose curves, more energy after meals, and easier weight loss, this episode shows you the foundational step you’ve been skipping.Try my simple pre-meal practice for a week and tell me what you notice. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode!Joy can feel like it slipped away somewhere between responsibilities, heartbreak, hormones, and that creeping sense of “is this it?” I’m Sandy Kruse, and I’m getting real about what I’ve been seeing in people over 50: a heaviness that isn’t just about aging skin or a busy calendar. It’s stress that never fully shuts off, grief that shows up in waves, and a nervous system that’s been holding too much for too long. If you’ve ever felt guilty that you can’t just “be positive,” this conversation is for you. I unpack why joy was more effortless when we were young, from a more responsive dopamine system to fewer fixed roles and more built-in community. Then I look at what changes after 50: chronic stress, sleep disruption, changing hormones in women and men, social contraction, and the quiet identity shift that can come with empty nest, divorce, retirement planning, or simply realizing certain dreams will not happen. I also talk about the midlife alcohol pattern that can sneak in as “relief,” and why it often backfires by worsening mood, anxiety, and sleep, making natural joy even harder to access. When you’re burned out, numb, or grieving, you can’t layer “joy practices” on top of an unprocessed war zone, as some "experts" claim we "need" to do. I share what I believe comes first: truth, acknowledgement, and the work beneath the work, plus tools that can help, including support, somatic approaches, and EFT tapping. From there, we build joy back through four pillars to slowly regulate the nervous system. If this hits home, subscribe, share it with someone who feels heavy, and leave a rating and review so we can keep bringing grounded conversations about midlife wellness, hormones, nervous system health, and joyful aging to more people.Support the showInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/sandyknutrition/Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/sandyknutritionTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@sandyknutritionYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIh48ov-SgbSUXsVeLL2qAgRumble: https://rumble.com/c/c-5461001Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sandyknutrition/Substack: https://sandykruse.substack.com/Podcast Website: https://sandykruse.ca

Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode! Why were we less afraid in the 80s, even though life was objectively more dangerous? In this episode of Sandy K Nutrition Health & Lifestyle Queen Podcast, I explore the dramatic shift from the unfiltered, unsupervised, analog childhoods of the 80s to today’s hyper‑connected, hyper‑observed digital world. I unpack how a generation raised on hallway politics, real‑world problem‑solving, and genuine anonymity developed naturally resilient nervous systems, while modern life is pushing us toward chronic fear, overstimulation, and emotional fragility. This episode blends nostalgia with grounded science to explain why so many people feel anxious, overwhelmed, and constantly “on alert.” I break down the psychological and biological forces shaping today’s fear culture, including Mean World Syndrome, the Panopticon Effect, and the rise of safetyism. I also share a powerful moment about my almost-89‑year‑old father's wisdom, whose old‑school words reveal a truth our nervous systems desperately need: strategic information boundaries are not avoidance - they are biological protection. What makes this episode different is my scientifically and logically rooted solutions - practical, accessible, and grounded in nervous‑system physiology, metabolic stability, and behavioral psychology. These are not hacks or trends. They are evidence‑informed protocols anyone can follow to reduce digital overwhelm, rebuild competence, restore metabolic steadiness, and reconnect with the uncurated version of yourself that existed before life became a 24/7 performance. If you’re tired of feeling overstimulated, anxious, or disconnected from your own strength, this episode offers a nostalgic and deeply practical roadmap back to resilience. It’s a call to step out of performance mode, reclaim your internal locus of control, and rebuild the grounded, capable, unfiltered human you were always meant to be.If this resonated, tap follow, share it with a friend who needs a reset, and leave a quick review so more people can find the show. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode!Tired of dropping cash on “longevity” stacks and not feeling a thing? I dig into the rarely explained reason why many midlife supplements underperform: your cell membranes are running on fumes. When membranes lose fluidity and signal poorly, even the most hyped tools—NAD boosters, spermidine, mitochondrial enhancers—can’t deliver. I break down how aging, stress, medications, and genetics deplete phospholipids and why you can’t out-hack basic biology.I walk through a practical, science-led framework that starts with structure and signaling. First up is phosphatidylcholine, the membrane and bile workhorse tied to liver health, fat digestion, and cognitive support. Next is phosphatidylserine, the signaling specialist that sharpens synaptic communication and steadies cortisol. You’ll hear clear symptom patterns that point to PC needs, like fatty-meal intolerance, floating stools, elevated liver enzymes, and “brain needs lubrication,” and PS needs - like 3 a.m. wakeups, wired-but-tired nights, stress overreactions, and slower recall. I also share realistic timelines, pulsing strategies, and research-informed dose ranges to discuss with your own qualified practitioner. This is a no-affiliation, no-hype take that helps you prioritize what actually works for midlife health: repair membranes first, then consider the shiny extras. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode! What if your home, your lineage, and your energy field are quietly shaping your health, relationships, and luck—and you could change the pattern by shifting the layer beneath it? I’m sharing a grounded tour of quantum clearing that bridges physics, nervous system wisdom, and practical esoteric work, so you can spot real signals, not chase vague vibes, or believe that smudging your home is enough.I start with early tells: rooms that feel oddly cold, LED lights that flicker without failing, plants that struggle for no reason, and a constant urge to escape your own space. Then I zoom out to repeating life loops—money rising and crashing in cycles, conflicts that escalate out of nowhere, opportunities that never land—and the health echoes that follow, from sudden anxiety to a heavy disconnection from self. Instead of dismissing physiology, I anchor it: hormones, sleep, and health matter. But when the body checks out, and the pattern still repeats, your field is likely involved.I owe this experience to Brenda Farrugia. She has cleared my energy field and my home, and I've been working with her, trust her and know her well. I know both her and her gifted partner, Asim, very well. Get in touch with her here: https://www.sobrilliant.ca/.I unpack lineage layers as quantum imprints—family “curses” as dense informational patterns formed by trauma, betrayal, or collapse cycles. I explain why Reiki can soothe the surface while quantum clearing restructures the blueprint: dissolving distortions, guiding stuck residues to light, repairing fractured timelines, and reconnecting your home and land to coherent grids. You’ll learn when to clear yourself first, when to focus on the house, and why some spaces keep reabsorbing stress until your own field is addressed. I share personal experiences—the years of energy work, the moment things began to move again—and what people commonly feel during and after a clearing: a lighter air, arguments that don’t stick, stronger boundaries, louder intuition. If you’ve felt invisible to good timing, blocked by bad luck, or drained by your own four walls, this conversation offers a practical path to reorganize the field beneath the problem. Listen, note the signs, and decide whether self, home, lineage, or land is the next right step. If this resonates, please share it with a friend, rate and review on Apple or Spotify, and follow me everywhere at Sandy Knutrition. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode!Forget the roses. Let’s talk about the chemistry and practice of love that your body can actually feel and your life can sustain. I explore why genuine connection lowers cortisol, boosts oxytocin, and smooths heart rate variability, and how the vagus nerve helps you shift from fight or flight to social engagement and calm. Along the way, I untangle the early attachment templates that shape how we seek closeness, react to conflict, and choose partners without letting the past dictate the future.I share practical, grounded ways to make love coherent: touch and eye contact to build trust, music and laughter to raise oxytocin, and gentle movement and breath to settle the nervous system. I also dig into belief work through BEAM Therapy to uncover and clear the subtle stories like, “I’m not enough,” “love is dangerous,” “I’ll be abandoned”, that keep the heart braced. When those patterns soften, generosity replaces self-erasure, and alignment shows up as what you feel, what you say, and how you live moving in the same direction. For working with a reliable practitioner, I highly recommend Brenda Farrugia of https://www.sobrilliant.ca/.Pets get their moment too, because the research is striking: eye contact with your dog can raise oxytocin for both of you. Beyond sentiment, I talk rituals that outlast performative holidays, like handwritten letters that name growth and gratitude, and why boundaries are a love language for your nervous system. By choosing practices that bring you back to a steady exhale, you stop confusing chaos with chemistry and start building bonds that feel like home.If this conversation helped you rethink love, subscribe, share it with someone who needs it today, and leave a review on Apple or Spotify - tell me the one practice you’ll try this week.Support the showInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/sandyknutrition/Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/sandyknutritionTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@sandyknutritionYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIh48ov-SgbSUXsVeLL2qAgRumble: https://rumble.com/c/c-5461001Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sandyknutrition/Substack: https://sandykruse.substack.com/Podcast Website: https://sandykruse.ca

Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode!Tired of being told to “lift heavy” and “push through pain” while your body begs for a different plan? Why isn't the other research ever cited? Is it because it's not so performative, not so sexy? I take a hard, honest look at why conventional fitness advice can fail women in perimenopause and postmenopause and what you might consider instead. From nervous system regulation to smarter strength, this could be a new map for midlife movement that respects physiology, protects joints, improves sleep and helps to regulate your nervous system, which is already on high alert during this important phase in a woman's life.I start by demystifying cortisol and stress timing: why evening HIIT and hot studios can sabotage rest, worsen hot flashes, and keep your brain wired. I share personal injury lessons from years of grinding, then shift to evidence-backed tools that calm the system and rebuild resilience. Qigong takes center stage with randomized trial support for lowering menopausal symptoms, improving mood, sleep, balance, and quality of life, all with minimal injury risk and small daily doses easy to sustain. You’ll also hear a clear-eyed comparison of qigong, tai chi, and western yoga, plus a deep dive into the “hot yoga detox” myth. Sweat carries negligible toxins; your liver and kidneys do the real work. Active heat plus strain drives sympathetic stress, while calm sauna time can help you relax. The takeaway is practical and compassionate: regulate before you ramp up. Embrace consistency before intensity. Protect joint integrity before chasing aesthetics. Cultivate energy instead of burning it out, then bridge back to resistance bands, bodyweight work, and eventually heavier lifts when recovery is reliable. If you’ve felt pushed, shamed, or confused by one-size-fits-all advice, consider this your reset. You can be strong without breaking yourself, and you can feel calm without giving up progress. Send me a text! I'd LOVE to hear your feedback on this episode! When a good man turns quiet, slower to recover, and oddly distant, most couples assume it’s attitude or boredom or maybe even an affair. What if the real story is hormones, sleep debt, vascular strain, and stress chemistry reshaping mood, identity, and connection? I take a clear-eyed look at men’s midlife health - why testosterone can decline earlier than you think, how visceral fat and alcohol accelerate the slide, and why erectile dysfunction often points to cardiovascular issues long before it’s “just a bedroom problem.”I walk through the signals men tend to ignore: loss of morning erections, irritability, low motivation, social withdrawal, brain fog, and that nagging sense of not feeling like yourself. I break down the difference between being “in range” and being optimized in your bloodwork, and outline the lab panels that actually guide change. This conversation also moves into the heart of relationships. When physiology changes, partners often feel rejected or unseen; understanding the body’s role shifts the frame from blame to teamwork. We talk about men’s reluctance to seek help, the data on midlife suicide risk, and how therapy that gives tools can rebuild agency. On treatment paths, I cover the trade-offs of testosterone therapy, why some consider HCG, and the importance of retesting every quarter so decisions follow data, not hype.If you’re aiming to age well together, start here: measure what matters, protect sleep, lift regularly, drink less, and choose friends who support your goals.
