Former AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe had a shaky start to the season, and some Magpies fans were questioning his future, but with NINE wins in a row, one foot in the Carabao Cup final, and sitting pretty in the Premier League table - it's fair to say that Tyneside is now United behind Eddie and co. With Bournemouth awaiting this weekend, they can make it ten in all competitions, and they'll fancy their chances with the current state of Andoni Iraola's squad. Bournemouth are THREADBARE, and with James Hill being the latest casualty, Cherries are in their worst injury predicament that they've ever had in the top flight, but with a siege mentality comes galvanisation - so can Boscombe perform a miracle in the North East? Chelsea's dramatic draw with AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday was littered with contentious issues, leaving fans from BOTH sets of fanbases flabbergasted by actions, of lack of, by referee Rob Jones. David Brooks's coming together with Marc Cucurella left Blues fans reeling, but at the other end, the build up to the late equaliser sparked a debate about a rule that NO-ONE seems to know, not least the officials. On Tuesday night, AFC Bournemouth face their second match in the space of seven days. Whilst on Saturday, Cherries soundly defeated West Brom in the FA Cup, next up for Andoni Iraola's men is a tough test against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League. But Boscombe have an injury crisis, right? So how will this play out, and what would represent a satisfactory points tally from our next four games? This weekend, Cherries take on manager-less but five time winners West Brom in the 3rd round at Vitality Stadium. But Cherries are DEPLETED, and Philip Billing seems to be the latest departure (albeit on loan)... so what will Iraola do? Can the FA Cup be a welcome distraction to the relentless nature of the Premier League? Sam and Tom are at the QP to preview our cup clash! Visit the QP at 482 Holdenhurst Rd, Bournemouth, BH8 9AR. Bournemouth started the New Year in style on Saturday against a terrible Toffees. A number of Cherries fans were expecting the Cherries to steamroll Sean Dyche’s side, but true to form, Everton were purposeful and pragmatic. With 11 men in blue behind the ball and seemingly little drive to go and win the game, it was always going to be a scrappy affair, with something special required to win the points, but thanks to a delightful David Books volley, three points eventually came to fruition for Andoni Iraola’s men, who remain seventh in the Premier League. Sam and Tom are at the QP to discuss the weekend's game where we question Everton's immediate future. Does their current plight mirror the situation at Dean Court a couple of years ago? Fresh from a new takeover, they have a playing style that isn’t to the liking of the majority of the fanbase, and a manager that perhaps doesn’t fit the bill - is it just a case of getting through the season before an overhaul in the summer? Under Sean Dyche, Everton have a canny way of making it very difficult for Bournemouth. Whilst their league position is lowly, they have a habit of playing in a way that Andoni Iraola has often found hard to combat, so whilst form and history might tell you the Cherries should chew up and spit out the Toffees, the reality is that Saturday's match at Dean Court will be far from academic. This season, the Toffees OUTPLAYED Boscombe for 86 minutes, and even last season, they spanked us at their place with only an own goal gifting Bournemouth the points at Dean Court - so how can Iraola overcome the customary exasperation with Everton? 2024 was a record breaking season for AFC Bournemouth with last gasp goals, insane comebacks, securing our highest ever points tally, mad shirt sponsorships, the women’s team smashing it, beating United AGAIN, smashing Arsenal, surprising City, and a training ground nearly finished. Despite a draw with Fulham on the last calendar game of the year, Sam, Neil and Tom are the the QP with the last show of the year - fully under the impression that Andoni Iraola is not finished, and that 2025 could be even better. At the weekend, Cherries became the first team to beat Man United at Old Trafford by three goals in consecutive games after another stunning 3-0 victory which propelled Andoni Iraola's side to FIFTH in the Premier League. Whilst Bournemouth fans aren't getting carried away, but passports are being renewed and the Skyscanner website is being bookmarked, with the "E" word being on the tip of the tongue for many a Cherry. Just a pipe-dream? Maybe. But whilst we are this in scintillating form, it would seem rude not to flirt with the idea, so in this Christmas pod, Sam and Tom are the the QP to go through the action from a wonderful day in the North West. The Red Devils have had over a month of new head coach Ruben Amorim, and he’s started in a very "Man Utd" way, with inconsistent showings and results he'd rather forget, but there are signs that there is something for United fans to actually be positive about... As Bournemouth travel up to Old Trafford this weekend, can Andoni Iraola make Amorim's initiation into the Premier League that little bit tougher by winning there AGAIN? After sixteen games, AFC Bournemouth are Europa league. Andoni Iraola's side sit in sixth in the table, two points short of Manchester City, and Cherries are in a very good place ahead of what we hope will be a very fruitful Christmas! On Monday night, we registered a draw against West Ham. We all wanted more, but on 87 minutes, it looked like we’d be getting sweet FA after VAR awarded a penalty kick to the Hammers. Alas, worry not, as our Turkish Delight Enes Unal stepped up to notch a PEARLER of a free-kick to earn us a point! Sam and Tom are the QP to discuss the game! Are West Ham a club in crisis? The noise from within the club suggests it is, but with Julen Lopetegui's side closer to Europe than the drop, we wonder whether this is simply a storm in a teacup? Yes, the results haven't been great, and yes their league position is not what they want it to be given the money that they have spent, but, there is another argument. On Monday night, The Hammers travel to Bournemouth - a side that also had similar "issues" with their new manager in the first few months of the season. Andoni Iraola started his career at Dean Court in underwhelming fashion, and some were even calling for his head - however patience was key, and with the Basque boss now absolutely smashing the league, there is an argument to say that Lopetegui simply needs time - so is this the season in which West Ham can afford to do it? Sam and Tom are the QP to preview the BIG game! Visit the QP at: 482 Holdenhurst Rd, Bournemouth, BH8 9AR. After Bournemouth shocked Ipswich with yet ANOTHER late turnaround on Sunday, Cherries fans have been revelling with being joint 7th in the league. Since Andoni Iraola arrived on the south coast he’s provided some scintillating and chaotic football, and the role of each individual is equally as disorderly. From changing specific roles to instructing players to play in positions that they’re somewhat alien from, we continue to be pleasantly surprised.. Whilst we managed to get the result at Portman Road, the crazy thing is, we weren't even that great - Bournemouth are now good without being "good"! So, have we reached new levels, and is it time to perhaps make some of the most outlandish and sacrilegious statements about where we are heading versus where we've come from? Sam and Tom have the big match preview from the Queens Park Hotel. Visit the QP at: 482 Holdenhurst Rd, Bournemouth, BH8 9AR. In his own words, Andoni Iraola can never look too far ahead, refusing to set targets or speak about long term goals. Bournemouth's win against Tottenham led many a Cherry to start thinking about dreams of the top ten and maybe even Europe, but Bournemouth's Basque boss pooh-poohed any mentions of possible achievements, stating that the next game is the most important. Ipswich Town are Cherries' opponents for this one, and their record suggests it should be an away win with Bournemouth on form, and the Tractorboys winless at home. Boscombe fans suggest that it would be "so Bournemouth" to beat Spurs and lose to Ipswich, so is getting a result at Portman Road on Sunday potentially a barometer to see if we're a level above where we think we might be? We *should* be beating them right?  Sam and Tom have the big match preview from the Queens Park Hotel. Visit the QP at: 482 Holdenhurst Rd, Bournemouth, BH8 9AR. On Thursday, Bournemouth THUMPED Spurs - yet was only 1-0! However it was a game where Cherries had chances galore, and it would not have flattered Iraola’s side if Boscombe had won by 3, by 4, or 5 - as the relentless pressing, the refusal to let Spurs breathe, and the constant energy - meant that Ange Postecoglu's men had few answers to the continuous pressure. Yes we all know the Spurs have got injuries, but in terms of Bournemouth's "difference makers", so have we, and with the latest omission being our star central-defender Marcos Senesi, would his replacement step up? Of course he would - you could put your Huijsen it. Sam and Tom are at the Queens Park Hotel for the Second Look... Visit the QP at: 482 Holdenhurst Rd, Bournemouth, BH8 9AR. Spurs parted with £55m for Dom Solanke, and could part with up to £10m in add-ons, in Bournemouth's most lucrative ever transfer to date, but whilst the frontman has notched six goals for Ange Postecoglou's side, Spurs fans might have been hoping his prowess would be propelling them up the league. However Tottenham Hotspur sit just two points above Bournemouth and their form is sporadic to say the least, so, are questions being asked about his value to the North London side, or are Spurs fans realising his true worth? Bournemouth got back to winning ways on Saturday with a 4-2 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers. The performance was hectic, it was end-to-end, and at times chaotic - but one thing it possessed for Bournemouth was clinicality - and from that showing, we have learned a few things… Is Molineux our playground? Last weekend, a massive 4-1 win for Wolves at Fulham possibly saved Gary O'Neil's job at Molineux. Andoni Iraola's philosophy of engaging, front-foot, and often "chaotic" football was encapsulated in a harem-scarem ninety minutes at Brentford on Saturday, as Thomas Frank's side felt the force of Bournemouth's aggressive press, yet hung in the game, only to catch us cold (on more than one occasion) to win the three points in West London. Last week Bournemouth ANNIHILATED top of the table Manchester City, but this weekend, we arguably faced a stiffer test by the way of divisional stablemates Brentford - who have the best home form in the Premier League, and they haven't lost at home to the Cherries since 2005! Andoni Iraola's side have seven points out of a possible NINE in their last three games against Arsenal, Aston Villa and City, but whilst a Brentford side that were underwhelming on Monday against Fulham looks like a mouth-watering fixture, Boscombe fans are all too aware that this has all the hallmarks of an "After the Lord Mayor's Show" type outing. After beating Manchester City 2-1 on Saturday, the media were justifiably talking about Andoni Iraola and the sumptuous Cherries side that he has assembled. The score-line suggests the game was closer than it was, but the Guardiola's Citizen's were SOUNDLY beaten in a showing where the home side didn't let the away team even breathe. After winning 6 out of the last 7 titles, Manchester City are unbeaten in all 28 of their PL games in 2024, and yet again they sit at the top of the table. Cherries have not taken a single point from Man City in the top flight and indeed, it is the most one sided fixture in English Football League history. In the PL alone, the aggregate score is 45-7. It's all a bit boring. However their cup exit to Tottenham suggests they are "gettable", so with Andoni Iraola's Bournemouth riding the crest of a wave, the big question is... CAN WE? On Saturday, Bournemouth secured a stunning 2-0 win against Arsenal in a performance which saw the home side take the game to the opposition and create the lions share of decent chances. *Some* people will say that the red card was a turning point, but Bournemouth were as good as Arsenal before Saliba's misdemeanour, so Sam & Tom sit down and give the Cherries a pat on the back… Thank you to everyone who has contributed to all our platforms. Mikel has changed Arsenal in ways not even Arsene Wenger could. The Gunners have gone from top 4 contenders, to title contenders - and arguably, this season they could even be labelled "favourites". Ahead of their trip to Vitality Stadium on Saturday, Sam and Tom are The Court Room at the Queens Park to discuss the week at AFC Bournemouth, one which culminates in Iraola's reunion with an old friend in Arteta - in a game which has got some RIDICULOUS stats which might point to Cherries' fate. The ability to create chances is one the key cornerstones of Andoni Iraola's footballing philosophy, but against Leicester, a familiar story emerged whereby Cherries had a high xG (expected goals), but no ACTUAL goals to our name. Focusing on xG is only important when you’re not winning games. It's a stat which helps detect whether a team totally deserved to not pick up the points, or, as in the case of Bournemouth - if they were simply "unlucky" in front of goal. However, when there is a constant repetition of high xG and low conversion, constructive conversations can easily turn to concern - so is it "unlucky", or are Cherries worryingly not ruthless enough in front of goal? AFC Bournemouth's Ghanian superstar Antoine Semenyo is on the lips of every FPL player in the Premier League right now after some stunning performances and goals which has thrust him into the global limelight. Cherries travel to winless Leicester City on Saturday, and whilst the history and the form guide points towards an away win, the clash at the King Power will be far from easy - therefore Boscombe fans will likely be looking to our electric right-winger to unlocking a side who can perhaps consider themselves unlucky to register three points this season. Sam and Tom have the preview from the Queens Park Hotel. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to all our platforms.
