Canapiare is a colombian band that combines llanero sounds with other different music genres such as: rock-folk , alternative-Indie, managing to create their own style.
During their career, CANAPIARE has become a key band within the movement named Joropo Alternativo (alternative joropo), creating an unique style, with the sole purpose of positioning their convention in different scenarios. In their repertoire, Canapiare includes adaptations of classic rock songs, as well as their own themes.
Canapiare stands out for the collaboration with the Mexican interpreter Aarón Montalvo, Dragon Ball GT opening and ending official voice in Latin America. and who dared to sing Joropo in a new version of “Mi corazón encantado”.
They release the music video “Sentimiento Latino” which highlights the participation of many musicians in different parts of the world. Winners of “Band of the Year” and “Song of the Year” at the “Latin Music Awards 2017” of the venezuelan foundation FUNCULATINO.
In 2018, the Municipal Mayor of Soacha awarded Canapiare at the Night of Art and Culture the recognition “Varón del Sol” for representing this municipality well.
In 2020, Andrés Cepeda selected their song “Y como no”, as part of the Musical Map of Colombia,
for the newspaper El Colombiano, in his anniversary special #ColombiaMeSuena
