Multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Beth Hart appeared in 1993 on the now defunct 'Star Search' show hosted by Ed McMahon. She eventually won the Female Vocalist category and went on to record her debut album 'Beth Hart and the Ocean of Souls' later that year. After forming The Beth Hart Band, the group released their first album titled 'Immortal' in 1996. Hart's early recording career was overshadowed by her well publicised issues with drug addiction, a problem she dealt with by finding religion and practising transcendental meditation.
Her talent has led to invitations to collaborate with some top names in rock such as Deep Purple, Slash, Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy and Joe Bonamassa. The highly acclaimed 2013 album 'Seesaw' was a joint effort between Hart and Bonamassa which led to nominations for a Grammy Award and a Blues Music Award; the album also went to number three on Billboard's Independent Albums Chart. Outside the American music market Hart has built up a sizeable fan base in Europe and her 2016 album 'Fire On the Floor' performed particularly well in Austria, Holland, Germany, Poland and the UK. In 2018 she released her third collaborative album with Bonamassa titled 'Black Coffee'.
